San Francisco was personal long before this work began, first through her parents' time in the city and later through her own immersion.

Jan spent time living in San Francisco specifically to research this piece, walking its neighborhoods and waterfront, studying its architecture, rhythm, and character from the ground up–and from the bay itself. What shaped the work most, however, were the conversations: from the Financial District to the artist enclaves, she sought out the people who defined each corner of the city, gathering the details that make San Francisco distinctly its own.

This piece became her first serigraph edition–an ambitious, year-long undertaking from research to release.

Rendered in meticulous pen and ink, then brought to life with rich, saturated watercolor, it captures not just the landmarks, but the layered personality of the city.

The original debuted at the release exhibition just days before the birth of her first son–a remarkable convergence of creation, both personal and artistic.

This limited edition serigraph, created from the original painting, has been meticulously hand silk-screened in 85 colors on heavy Arches 100% rag paper, individually numbered and hand signed by the artist.
