Door IV • San Miguel de Allende
The intricate stonework amazed me — each large stone separated by smaller ones nestled in between, the whole facade alive with color and texture. I knew immediately I had to take this door on as a challenge.
200 hours of exacting handwork went into recreating every element in 1/12 scale — each individual form and shape sculpted and painted by hand. Real stones were carefully embedded between each piece, the cantera surround, period door hardware, the graduated steps, and the street rising at a natural grade, all rendered to honor the original.
