My maiden voyage... what is it about doors? I became obsessed after moving to the UNESCO HERITAGE City of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The doors here are extraordinary— you never know what's behind them. The most modest puertas often open into something remarkable.

That curiosity pulled me in. I set up my studio and began—working intuitively, figuring it out as I went, building what I saw in my mind's eye. This first piece began as an exploration—I was teaching myself how to build, experimenting, and discovering what was possible. Nearly 200 hours later... yes really. Door I.
