This piece was Commissioned to celebrate the "50th Anniversary of Tokyo Bay"after the end of WW II. It was an incredible honor for an American female artist to be asked to create this painting.
Depicting many famous landmarks, including the Imperial Palace, the Ginza District, Asakusa, Tokyo Tower, Shinjuku, the Meiji Shrine and Mt. Fuji, a private Helicopter was chartered for Jan so she could photograph Tokyo from above in addition to her meticulous research of the city. Jan has done 4 major Solo Art Tours of Japan, and has a great love for the country and it's people.
A limited edition serigraph taken from this original painting has been printed on heavy 100% Arches rag paper, numbered and hand signed by the artist.
